Privacy Policy

Receiptyy keeps your receipts so you can find them later. This page explains, in plain terms, what data the app holds, why, and the control you have over it.

The short version

  • Your data is used only to run the app and its features — nothing else.
  • You can use Receiptyy as a guest, with no account and no personal details.
  • Your receipts are private to your account. No one else can see them.
  • We never sell your data, and we show no ads.
  • Delete a receipt — or your whole account — from inside the app, any time.

Who we are

Receiptyy ("we", "us", "the app") is a receipt-keeping app for iPhone and Android. If you have any question about this policy or your data, you can reach us at receiptyyapp@gmail.com.

Using Receiptyy as a guest

You can use Receiptyy without creating an account. As a guest, you don't provide any personal information — no name, no email. Your receipts are kept in a private, anonymous space and are not backed up or synced to other devices. If you later choose to sign in, your guest receipts can be kept and synced when a new account is created for you; signing into an account that already exists switches you to that account instead.

What we collect

We only collect what the app needs to work:

  • Your account. If you sign in with Google or with Apple, we receive a basic account identifier (and, where you allow it, your name and email) so your receipts can be tied to you and synced across your devices. Sign in with Apple lets you hide your email address if you prefer. We do not post anything to your Google or Apple account.
  • Your receipts. The photos you add and the details you enter — shop name, total, currency, date, and the folder you file them in. This is the content of the app, created by you.

We do not collect your contacts, your location, your browsing, or any data unrelated to keeping your receipts.

How your data is used

Your data is used solely to provide the app and its functionality — to store your receipts, organise them into folders, sync them to your devices, let you search them, generate PDF exports and summaries, and show them back to you. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond running Receiptyy. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for their own use.

PDF exports and summaries

Receiptyy can turn a receipt into a PDF, or turn a folder into a summary PDF that includes your receipt details and photos. These files are created on your device and shared only when you choose to share them, to the destination you pick (for example email, messages, or your files). We don't receive a copy of what you export or where you send it.

Where your data is stored

Your receipts are stored in your own private space using Google Firebase (Firestore for receipt details and Cloud Storage for the images), operated on our behalf as our infrastructure provider. Access is restricted so that only your signed-in account can read or write your receipts. Firebase processes this data strictly to provide the storage service to us and does not use it for its own purposes.

Deleting your receipts

You are in control of your data. When you delete a receipt in the app, it is permanently removed everywhere — both the receipt details and the photo are deleted from our storage. This is immediate and cannot be undone; a deleted receipt is gone, not hidden or archived. Deleting a folder never deletes the receipts inside it — they simply move back to your main list.

Deleting your account

You can delete your entire account from inside the app at any time — open the account menu and choose "Delete account". This permanently removes your account together with every receipt and folder and all associated photos. It cannot be undone. If you'd prefer, you can also email us at receiptyyapp@gmail.com and we will delete everything associated with your account.

Data retention

We keep your receipts for as long as you choose to keep them in the app. Once you delete a receipt — or your account — that data is removed from our systems. We do not retain copies of deleted receipts.

Your rights

You can view, edit, and delete your receipts at any time from within the app, and delete your whole account. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of your data or its full deletion. To make any such request, contact us at receiptyyapp@gmail.com.

Children

Receiptyy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
